Another thing to remember is stat/sensor placement.

If your thermostat is on the wall at 40" or so, and you have hot air
"piling up" near the ceiling while it is very cold along the floor, you
will not be happy.  A temp. sensor in the return air may not give you
the picture you are looking for either, again depending on duct
placement.

It is a tricky thing to figure out, but worth taking the time to think
about.
