A good source to find out more about open-air museums are:

Association for Living History, Farms, and Agricultural Museums or ALHFAM- 

www.alhfam.org 

Also: Midwest Open-Air Museums Coordinating Council or MOMCC

www.momcc.org 

They are both good organizations for living history and open air museums.
