I hope that someone on here who has pest-control expertise/advice can
assist Mr. DeBolt.

Thanks

Subject: Pest Control in Archives

My concerns about monthly spraying of the Library for pest control by a local
contractor has apparently raised the hackles of the library administration who
see no problem with this process. Building services have contracted for pest
control and will allow a contractor into offices and areas outside of working
hours to spray for bugs.

I would like to know what other archives/special collections are doing in this
area. My own plan is to use non-chemical processes such as sticky traps and
the like to reduce the problem as well as nitrogen treatment of incoming
materials in our decontamination room before they enter the Department.
