Pre-doctoral position available at the Smithsonian Center for Materials
Research and Education (SCMRE), Smithsonian Institution

Position involves laboratory work studying the effects of peroxide
decontamination reagents on the materials of museum objects.  Requires
chemistry background and basic familiarity with laboratory instrumentation.
Involves working with a broad range of materials (paper, textiles, metals,
wood, stone, paint, etc.) and a number of analytical techniques, including
gas, liquid, and thin layer chromatography, SEM, and XRD.  Experience in one
or more techniques desirable.  Position is located at SCMRE's facilities in
Suitland, Maryland.  Position is available immediately.
