I'm not aware of a program just for admissions, but here are two more
options that might work:

1.  Go to tucows.com and look for some freeware or shareware that will do
what you want.  You can also download demos to try out different programs
and see if you like them.  Incidentally this is a great resource for all
kinds of neat software.

2. Someone suggested that Excel converts nicely into Raizer's Edge, and I
know it does for Access as well.  What if your accountant set up an Excel
spreadsheet for your receptionist to track admissions, then you imported
that data into your database weekly (or monthly).  Maybe that's more of a
hassle than you are currently undergoing, but it seems the cheapest
solution.
