There seems to be a lot of interest surrounding the idea of online
exhibits. I'd like to suggest another source of information surrounding
this topic to the list.

I was part of a double session at the AAM conference in Cleveland regarding
an online exhibit which involved ten heritage partners from across the
Americas. The project, called 'Festivities of the Living and the Dead in
the Americas' arose from the ICOM conference on sustainable development
last May and had partners from Costa Rica, Brazil, Mexico, Canada and the
United States. Our group is in the process of posting our presentation
online and it contains a lot of useful information (practical and
theoretical) about what we learned and derived from this online
collaboration. The presentation is at http://www.peskydog.com.

The Festivities exhibit itself launched May 18 (International Museum Day)
with each partner staging an opening in their geographical area. The
Festivities exhibit is at http://www.chin.gc.ca/museamericas/. This is part
of the CHIN (Canadian Heritage Information Network) site which has a large
online exhibit component and more info. CHIN was instrumental in organising
the whole experience.
