I am new to list and wanted to introduce myself.
 
I am a graduate student in History at Columbia University.  I am writing a
dissertation on the emergence of provincial museums in England between
1845 and 1914.  I am interested in who was involved in building museums,
who visited them, and how English institutions differed from American
and European ones.  I would be most interested in corresponding with
anyone with similar interests.  Museum history seems to be an expanding
field, only recently discovered by academic historians.
