Visitor Service Representatives (Part-Time) will assist in the delivery of an 
exceptional visitor experience throughout the Newseum.

 

 

Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

 

•     Provide outstanding customer service to Newseum visitors. 

•     Meet and assist visitors in all museum areas to include access control, 
information desk, coat check, theater operations, gallery representatives, tour 
group greeting and more. 

•     Be familiar with all museum galleries, exhibits, and events. 

•     Operate theaters and interactive equipment. 

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

•     Must be willing to function in all of the Visitor Services positions. 

•     Minimum availability of at least two full days or multiple evenings per 
week. 

•     Willingness to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends, 
holidays and evenings. 

•     Must be a team player, demonstrating flexibility and initiative. 

•     Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills. 

•     Must possess the ability to work with a diverse staff and public under 
fast-paced, ever-changing conditions. 

•     Interest in museums, history, and/or news a plus. 

•     Ability to stand for long periods of time. 

•     Ability to lift 30 pounds. 

•     High School Diploma.

•     Basic computer skills.

•     Must successfully pass pre-employment background and drug screenings.
