Half-time Position, Executive Director, Evanston Historical Society

The Evanston Historical Society seeks an experienced and successful leader
for the position of half-time Executive Director. Located in Evanston,
Illinois, the home of Northwestern University on the shores of Lake
Michigan, the Society is housed in the national landmark home of former
U.S.Vice President Charles Gates Dawes.

The ideal candidate will have superior management and organizational
skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a passion
for museums, history and preservation.   Management experience with a not-
for-profit cultural institution and a volunteer Board of Trustees is highly
desirable, as is experience with fund-raising and capital campaigns.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: overseeing all financial
activities, including day-to-day accounting, budgeting, financial
reporting, and endowment investment management; supervision of staff and
volunteers; strategic planning; and acting as the staff liaison with the
Board of Trustees. The Director will be responsible for the overall
implementation and promotion of the Society’s mission, goals and objectives.
