Dear Elaine,

Toby Raphael of The National Park Service Harpers Ferry Center has put out
a wonderful publication entitled "Conservation Guidelines, Design and
Fabrication of Exhibits". It contains just the sort of information you are
requesting, with sections on case fabrication, general exhibit design
considerations, and object mounting guidelines. Their address is :

National Park Service
Harpers Ferry Center
P.O. Box 50
Harpers Ferry, WV 25425-0050
(304) 535-6141

These guidelines should help, but I would encourage you to try to find a
contractor that has at least some previous exhibit casework experience as
the learning curve can be a bit steep. Good luck.
