My name is Jim Pfeiffenberger and I work part time with a small community
museum in Seward, Alaska. I have two questions. First, we are planning
to buy museum database software for the Mac platform. Does anyone have
any experience/opinions on "Accession" by Oak Tree Software Specialists?
This is the program we are very close to buying. Ant other ideas for the
Mac platform?
My second question is regarding scanning of historical photos. Is
there any indication that the bright green light of scanning is bad for
old photos. I can't imagine its good...but, how many scans are
permissible? How intense is the light output from a scanner? Any info
would be greatly appreciated. We are hoping to scan thumbnail images of
our photo collection as part of our database/cataloging project.

Thanks,
Jim
