PUBLICIST
SAN JOSE MUSEUM OF ART


The San Jose Museum of Art is seeking a qualified candidate for the
position of Publicist in the Public Relations Department. The position
reports to the Director of Public Relations and is responsible for a wide
range of tasks that support the dissemination of information regarding the
Museum's many programs and exhibitions.


Responsibilities:
Provide support for PR Dept: write press releases and other PR-related
materials; maintain and update media database; produce and distribute press
materials; maintain office files, including press clippings and visuals;
oversee department budget; coordinate mailings; signage production;
production of advertisements; clerical support; copy-proofing, as required.



Qualifications:
Excellent written and oral skills; excellent computer skills, including
graphics experience; ability to organize and execute multiple tasks
simultaneously; detail oriented; BA in Communications or equivalent
experience; museum/cultural organization experience  preferred.
