                    Short Wins Merit Award from Salmagundi Club

Milwaukie, Oregon( August 10, l998) Chiaroscuro Painter Margret E. Short
is proud to announce her Merit Award from  New York's prestigious
Salmagundi Club. Short was presented the Salamagundi Club Award for her
oil painting entitled Prelude.

Short a former instructor at Clackamas Community College is represented
by Vanier Fine Art, Scottsdale, AZ and the Sovereign and the Rental
Sales Gallery in Portland, OR.

Short  has exhibited in the C.M. Russell Auction, Great Falls, MT, the
Gulf Coast Invitational, Biloxi, MS, the Gilcrease Museum, Tulsa, OK and
will be working with the Art in the Embassies Program, Washington, D.C.
