The Museum of American Textile History has two positions available
in its Textile Conservation Department:

Assistant Conservator

Full time.  Responsibilities include examination, treatment and
documentation of a wide variety of textile objects.  Some travel may
be required for surveys, presentations, and professional development.

Candidates should have academic training in textiles, conservation, art
history, or polymer chemistry.  Three to five years' supervised
experience in conservation required.

Conservation Assistant

Full time, one-year contract.  Responsibilities include the examination
and treatment of objects from the museum's own collection in preparation
for exhibits opening in late 1996.

Job requirements are similar to those listed above, with special
consideration given to candidates with a background in costume display
or museum exhibit planning.

newly-equipped, 6000 sq. foot facility in Lowell, MA.
