OPEN POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND PUBLIC INFORMATION

Speed Art Museum is seeking an accomplished marketing professional to manage and enhance the successful marketing programs for the expansion of the organization.  The Director of Marketing is responsible for leading all museum marketing, public relations and communications efforts.  This position reports to the Administrative Director, COO.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate success in developing audiences, increasing membership, and revenue; and the ability to manage and motivate staff/board/volunteers.  Key responsibilities include: collaboration with all museum departments to identify, unify and coordinate promotional opportunities; facilitate internal and external communications; work with local, national and international media to promote the museum, collections, programs, exhibitions, membership, shop and café; write, edit and produce non-exhibition materials utilizing internal and external creative and production resources; develop new marketing ideas; cultivate relationships with media partners; market museum services to corporations, organizations and individuals in order to increase awareness of the museum and enhance earned revenue.  

Qualifications:  
*	Ten years marketing/communications/media/public relations experience; arts marketing experience desirable.
*	Experience with office procedure and computer experience with Microsoft office  
*	Experience to working with volunteers, clients and vendors in a museum or other special environment. 
*	 Diplomacy - strong interpersonal skills
*	Strong organizational, verbal and written skills 
*	Ability to become proficient with museum specific software 
*	Flexible schedule for required evening and weekend work
*	 Masters degree preferred with course work in Art History and Marketing
