If these things are indeed fragile, the last thing you want to do is vacuum seal them as this will cause the plastic bag to impinge on the contents to the degree that it will crush small, fragile objects within it. I would suggest a simple bag sealer thereby leaving some air in the bag to allow for some cushioning effect. You could always place a small bag of desiccant in the bag to reduce moisture if that is a problem.

Subject: Vacuum Sealing

Hello All! I could use your assistance here....As an archaeology
repository, we
often receive recovered animal bone as part of an accession, in vast
quantities.
Often, these specimens are articulated and fragile. We are visiting with
the idea
of vacuum packing some of these items and are coming up with a long list
of
'pros', but very few 'cons'. Can anyone offer up some insight to us what
we may
be overlooking? It would be most appreciated!

Thanks.
