Program: Cultural Partnership for At-Risk Children and
Youth Program

Summary:

The U.S. Department of Education (http://www.ed.gov/),
in partnership with the National Endowment for the
Arts (http://www.nea.gov/), has announced the Cultural
Partnerships for At-Risk Children and Youth program to
develop school-community partnership programs designed
to improve the educational performance and future
educational potential of at-risk children and youth by
providing comprehensive, coordinated educational and
arts programs and services.

Applicants can be local school districts applying
on behalf of an individual school or schools in which
75 percent or more of the children enrolled are from
low-income families, in partnership with at least one
of the following: an institution of higher education;
a museum; a local arts agency; or a cultural entity
that is accessible to individuals within the school
district and that has a history of providing quality
services to the community.

Seven to ten grants, ranging from $100,000 to
$250,000,
are expected to be awarded for a period of one year.
Grant recipients must contribute 20 percent of the
project's cost in the form of non-federal
contributions in cash or as an in-kind contributions.
