Initially it appeared that most people were opposed to using this list to
post resumes, but the last few messages seem to be suggesting that as long
as people clearly state in the subject line that they're sending a resume,
then it would somehow be acceptable. While clearly stating the subject
might make posting a resume more palatable to those who don't want to read
them, it only encourages people to send them in the hopes that there will
still be the off chance that someone will contact them. This misses the
point. Not only am I not interested in reading them (and am in no position
to hire anyone), but to me posting resumes (clearly identified, sent as
attached files, or otherwise) seems to go against the nature of this list.
It has been my impression that this list is for the discussion of
museum-related topics, conference announcements, job openings, etc.--NOT
self-advertising!

Many people who subscribe to this list, myself included, are seeking museum
jobs, but do not post resumes because we do not want this to become a forum
for job seeking. I do not want to feel I have to send my resume to this
list just to keep my bases covered. PLEASE keep Museum-L resume free!
