Hi, Maggie. AAM (the American Association of Museums) publishes a newsletter
called AVISO which has job listings. The museum world is always looking for
some great corporate folks as upper administration in American museums is
largely very corporate. Good luck!
Robin

Subject: Advice on Museum Jobs

Hello...
I am a new subscriber to the Museum Discussion List and have been
reading with great interest. The emails regarding the benefits of a
masters degree specifically relate to issues I am now facing.

I have been working at a hi-tech corporation for the past six years but
have been increasingly drawn the museum "industry." While working in
the corporate world I spent a lot of time trying to integrate my
interest in the arts with the computer/engineering environment I worked
in. Among other activities I started an art program and gallery for
employees and children. I recognized that I had more than a passing
fascination and got involved with five other people to establish a
children's museum in our area (The Wonder Factory).

I am interested in transitioning from corporate marketing to the museum
world and would be grateful for any advice on where to look for job
postings, how to make myself more attractive to potential employers,
etc. I have attached my resume is you are interested and have the time
to look it over.

sincerly,
Maggie O'Toole
