When I first started at the Historic site I work at my first assignment
was to place all artifacts in Past perfect which the state of New Jersey had
purchased. I was given a pile of papers and binders three feet high. All
were different inventories done at the site about 20 years apart. Would it
surprise you if i said none of them matched and the computer I was to use
wasn't capable of handling the program. This started two years ago and I'm
still verifying the existence of artifacts (or non-existence) and trying to
determine where the missing pieces are. Some I have located in other state
sites other in the archives and still others are no where to be found. Most
seem to have disappeared when the State took control of this Housein the mid
90's. So to those wondering about updates I suggest they be done on a
regular basis so you don't have to do what I am doing now, this began 2
years ago by the way.
