Hello Listers -

A little trick I learned from a woman in retail driven to distraction by all
the little labels attached to glassware. Duct Tape! This only works on
glass, plexi, metal, ceramic, and plastic.
Cut a strip of duct tape, then firmly holding a loose end, press and rub the
tape onto the area with old adhesive. Now pull the tape away by the loose
end. The tape backing of duct tape is strong enough to take this sort of
treatment, and the adhesive often gathers up most of the loose adhesive
stuck to the surface. No harsh chemicals, no scraping and risk of scratches.
Repeat the process as often as necessary until you have removed as much of
the adhesive as will come up by this method. If there are any remaining
bits, they can be attacked with the chemicals other list folk suggested.

As we all know, when the going gets tough, the tough get Duct Tape...
