Some office buildings use a self-healing wall covering that doesn't show the
results of cuts, nails, etc. I don't know what the material was but it
seemed to be a modern, malleable material with a slight texture. If you can
somehow get access to a facilities manager for such a building you might be
able to find out. Or maybe a really good interior decorator would know.
