Develop your professional knowledge and skills through the offerings of
the Cultural Resource Management Program at the University of Victoria
 
The Cultural Resource Management Program is pleased to offer short
campus-based courses for professionals, volunteers and board members in
museums, art galleries, cultural institutions, heritage sites and
related organizations. Courses are designed to address core competencies
and emerging needs of the sector and are taught by recognized leading
professionals.
 
You interact with colleagues from across North America and beyond,
participate in stimulating learning activities, and relate your learning
to the practical issues and realities of your workplace and community.
 
Courses can be taken individually for credit or non-credit or towards a
comprehensive diploma or focused professional specialization
certificate.

Caring for Collections

Investigate the physical characteristics of various types of museum
collections, the ways they are affected by a range of environmental
factors, and the preventive conservation and treatment policies and
procedures that are utilized to ensure the safe-keeping of artifacts and
specimens in storage, on exhibit, in transit, and when in use for
research and programming purposes.

Building Knowledge: Museums and Research

Approaches to Historic Site Stewardship: Perspectives from Monte Alban

Mexico to explore heritage and archaeological site management strategies
that emphasize sustainability, and partnerships with local communities,

Exhibition Design and Installation

hands-on exploration of principles and practice.
