Development Officer, Louis Armstrong House and
Archives, Queens College.  Personnel Vacancy Notice RRS-
20.  The Louis Armstrong House, a national historic landmark, is
currently completing a $1.4 million capital project and will open
to the public as a historic house museum in 2002.  The Louis
Armstrong Archives, open since 1994, is the repository of
Armstrong's vast personal collection of memorabilia, as well as a
steadily growing collection of newly acquired materials.  The
Armstrong House and Archives seeks a dynamic, self-directed
Development Officer who will be accountable for all stages
(e.g., identification of prospects, research, cultivation,
solicitation, and follow-up) of a diverse fundraising strategy
(capital campaign, major gifts, planed giving, corporate
sponsorship, memberships, donor recognition, etc.).  Join us and
grow with us!  REQUIRED: (1) Bachelors degree; (2) three
years of experience in development; (3) demonstrated success in
soliciting donors, writing grant applications, and planning special
events; and (4) proficiency in using word processing,
spreadsheets, and databases.  This is a full-time position (35
hours per week) including occasional evening or weekend hours.
 This is initially a two-year position with the possibility of long-
term employment.  SALARY RANGE: $55,000 to $65,000.
