Duties:

Move fragile Native American baskets from the current storage location to a
new off-campus site. Pull baskets from storage, safely transport to packing
area, select appropriate packing materials, pack baskets, transport baskets,
unpack and shelve at new location, exercising extreme care in handling and
tracking the baskets during all steps in the process. Make storage mounts
for selected baskets.
Required Qualifications:

Experience with museum collections. Ability to assess condition of artifacts
and manual dexterity to handle artifacts safely. Ability to lift up to 30
lb. and to climb stairs and ladders while holding fragile artifacts. Ability
to work cooperatively as part of a move team. Attention to detail.
Punctuality and dependability. Valid driver's license.
Desired Qualifications:

Knowledge of sewing for making storage mounts. Knowledge of packing
techniques for transporting museum objects.
Notes:

This is a full-time career appointment ending one year from date of hire.
