I am posting this for my husband, who does not have access to
this list. Please reply directly to him at:

My husband directs a research project which is studing the
University of Nebraska State Museum's Egyptian collection. They have
been offered an opportunity to x-ray both the human and non-human
mummies in the collection. Unfortunately, a century in this climate
has had detrimental effects on the human remains as well as their
coffins. Would anyone, conservator or otherwise, have any suggestions
on the best way to safely move them??? Any advice on the strength of
the x-ray machine so that it will penetrate the coffin wall?? Any and
all advice is appreciated.
