I have a question about a conservation process which is to be tested by the Library of Congress.

This is an emersion process for wood consolidation. The wood is emersed in a bath or tub, and then submitted to many hours of drying.
Does anyone know what this called, what is used for the consolidation, etc.?

I am familiar with PEG impregantion and the freeze-drying of the wood. Are we talking about the same process or something entirely different?

Thank you for helping out.
