Hello--

I just joined. I work at the Oakland Museum of California in the Docent
Center. I started a couple of years ago when the huge Forbidden City
exhibition came here, working admissions, and then migrated into the
docent program administration, which is great.

I left the museum to go to Stanford and work on my MA in East Asian
studies (my BA is in history). Now I'm done with coursework and am working
on my thesis, but I'm back at the museum. I plan to apply to SJSU's
Master's in Library and Information Science program this fall, heading for
the archiving specialty. I'd love to work long-term in a museum,
particularly this one.

If you use livejournal.com, I've set up a community called museumpeople.

Thanks
