It will be four to five weeks in duration, between early July and mid August, based entirely in Panama City, Panama, as part of a collaborative conservation and technical study of pre-Columbian Panamanian gold and gilded artifacts. International travel expenses and on-site living costs will be covered.

Applicants should currently be enrolled in or recently graduated from recognized conservation training programs. Preference will be given to an applicant who has training in objects conservation with special emphasis on archaeological materials (especially metals). Candidates must be fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Applications (in English), must include the following:

▪ a cover letter explaining the candidate's interests and intent in applying for the project

▪ curriculum vitae, with basic biographical information and current and permanent addresses and telephone numbers

▪ names and contact information for 2 references

The application must be postmarked no later than March 15, 2007. Selected candidates will be interviewed by telephone, although MCI visits are welcome. Notifications will be sent by April 15, 2007.
