I'm also an alumnus of GWU, but their Museum Education Program. GWU was the
first university in the nation to have a professional graduate level program
specifically for museum education. If you want to concentrate in the
programming dimension of cultural institutions, then I'd highly recommend
it. Although their Museum Studies department is excellent as well, the
curriculum is broad. Dr. Carol Stapp runs the Museum Education Program
(MEP), out of the Graduate School of Education and Human Development, and
helped start the program twenty years ago. If you decide to go the Museum
Education route, you'll get the Masters in Teaching (MAT), Museum Education.
Good luck in whatever school you choose!
