Assistant Director
The Wagner Free Institute of Science, a 145-year-old natural history museum
and educational institution near Temple University, is seeking an Assistant
Director at an exciting time in its history.  This National Historic
Landmark, which is dedicated to free science education for children and
adults, is in the midst of a $3 million capital restoration project. The
Assistant Director works closely with the Director on all aspects of
operation, including administration; collections conservation and
management; development; educational programming; membership and public
relations, as well as oversight and administration of the capital project.
Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years work in a
museum or educational setting; advanced degree in history, preservation or
science preferred. Other qualifications include: excellent writing and
people skills, and ability to handle multiple projects. Graphic
design/desktop publishing skills a plus. Should be an enthusiastic team
player with strong attention to detail and a good sense of humor.
