Matthew Bogdanos recounts his adventures, exposes truths about the
international art and antiquities market, and discusses missing pieces and
the ongoing looting of archaeological sites in Iraq.

A native New Yorker, Bogdanos is a colonel in the Marine Reserves and holds
a law degree and a master's degree in Classical Studies from Columbia
University, a master's degree in Strategic Studies from the Army War
College, and is a. recipient of the 2005 National Humanities Medal. He
has been an Assistant DA in Manhattan since 1988 and will return to the DA's
Office in 2006, where he will head New York¹s first antiquities task force.

³Thieves of Baghdad² was recently published by Bloomsbury and will be
available for purchase at the events. Royalties will be donated to the
Iraq National Museum.
