Dear LeeAnn Lands,

The Bagatti Valsecchi Museum in Milan, Italy, a late 19th century
aristocratic town mansion with original Renaissance art and furniture
collections, has a program for elementary school teacher refresher courses
and for elementary school children visits that address the issues you are
studying ("...how museums and other cultural sites use history/humanities to
inform audiences of or facilitate dialogue about contemporary culture and
public policy..."). Among other worthy goals, such as assisting children in
forming their notions of "past, present and future," the approach--tailored
to address the needs of two significant kids' age groups--also encourages
early awareness of social and cultural responsibility.

The program is offered, of course, in Italian. For the English introduction,
on the home page (after choosing your language)

http://www.museobagattivalsecchi.org

click on Project Kids, then, on the next page, on School.

Best regards,

Star Meyer, Ph.D.
