I think it's important to acknowledge volunteers - living and dead - in 
a membership publication.  Volunteers are critical to most museums - one 
person stuffing envelopes for a bulk mailing saves hours of staff time - 
and members should be aware of their contributions.  Volunteering is 
also a higher level of commitment that we should encourage among 
members.  I would not print a person's obituary newspaper-style 
(education, employment, next of kin, etc.), but I would write up his or 
her contributions to the museum and share some memories.
