I am restoring a late Georgian desk which received severe fire damage
to the leather top (fortunately the rest can be cleaned and the
shellac coating revived). I must replace the leather which is over
80% gone. It measures 60 3/4" by 36 3/4" in three sections, rather
large.

My problem is this, the two companies I have used in the past for
leather tops have quit doing desktops and reverted to book bindings
(W. Beale and Partners in London and Monastery Bindery in Chicago).
Could someone recommend a source that can supply the leather and do
the necessary border work?

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Regards,
