This discussion has turned away from its original subject -- the
disparity between professional training, qualifications, and standards of
the two fields.  I would like to see more on that subject.  Anyone have
ideas for improving the professionalism of museum staffs?
 
A request - if you are posting a reply to a specific writer, please give
that person's name or summarize the message to which you respond.  With
over 900 on the list and several messages per day on the each subject,
it's hard to keep track of the traffic.
 
Here's wishing the NEA, NEH, and IMS still exist at the end of 1995!
