Why don't you try the method of storage used in tack rooms? Saddle
pedestals are attached to the wall and depending upon the height of your
wall, you can get up to five on a row.  This way the saddles don't take
up valuable floor space and are still stored according to its needs. As
far as weight goes, store the heaviest near the bottom and purchase a
good, safe stepping stool for the others.  You might check your local
tack store or mail order company.  However, if you have shop personnel,
they can easily build wooden pedestals to fit your needs.  Hope this
