I am an Education Department intern working at the Octagon House
Museum in Washington, D.C. We are beginning to plan our Christmas
events and I am hoping to solicit advice from other historic house
museums about their successes and failures in Christmas programming.

We focus on the Federal Period, in particular 1817-1828, but other key
aspects of our interpretation include architecture and design. Does
anyone have any information to share about programming related to
these aspects? For example, what events were really popular, or way
too much trouble? How have you decorated your house? We are
particularly interested in food, music, and family activities.

     Thank you!
