SHARING MUSEUM SKILLS MILLENNIUM AWARDS

A reminder that the next deadline for the Sharing Museum Skills
Millennium Awards is August 10, 1999.  The scheme aims to support 6 week
secondments within the UK for volunteers and paid members of staff
working within UK museum, art galleries and allied heritage
organisations.  Grants between £2,000 - £4,000 are available under the
scheme for equipment, staff cover and out-of-pocket expenses.  The
scheme operates under quarterly deadlines until May 2001.

The website has been updated to include a suggested list of organisation
who have stated they would be willing to act as hosts.  In addition, the
'Skillsharers' page gives feedback from two secondments that have
already been completed, hosted by the New Art Gallery, Walsall and the
COMPASS Project at the British Museum.
