Hubble Sees Collision of Two Supernova Remnants

        The Hubble Space Telescope (HST) has imaged the collision of two
supernova remnants in Galaxy NGC 6946.  While this phenomenon had been
predicted by astronomers, HST is the first telescope to directly image this
event in visible light.
