I was really interested in this thread. As The salary history always
disturb me in jobs applications. In England where I live , jobs are
advertised with salaries. Until now I have been working privately, or
free lance in a rather dilettante manner for the love rather than the
money, as my husband feeds me. Although I am working almost full time
in a museum, more than half the time it is on a voluntary basis, so my
income is miserably little, and I always feel embarassed about
mentionning it in job applications. Why do they ask? as in the UK the
salary are pretty well fixed (and miserable) anyways.
