I would contact the Canadian Conservation Institute, The National Gallery
of Canada, The National Archives of Canada, and whatever-that-museum-is
in Montreal (CCP?) built around the historic house with money from the
Seagrams family.  The conservation departments of these institutions
should be able to help enormously.  You might also post your query to the
ConsDist List (Conservation Distribution List) with the mention that you
are not on the list.  The posting address is
