Greetings Andrew:

Here's a mini-museum jargon lesson:

accessioning: to formally acknowledge acceptance of an item into a museum
collection. This process usually involves acceptance by a museum board of
directors, paperwork recording the physical attributes of the objects, writing
the provenance of the object, and assigning the object a permanent number.
This accession number is then placed on or with the object.

accession number: the number given to an object at the time of accessioning,
usually a
tri-nominal number including the year, lot number, and item number within the
lot.

provenance: the history of the objects owenership and how it came to be in the
possession of a person donating or selling the item to a museum.

interactive: normally refers to an exhibit that encourages audience
participation, usually with a hands-on component. Yes, amodel of a Roman pot
you can pick up is considered interactive.

heritage: usually refers to an ethnic or cultural background, in what context
was the word used?

You seem a bit hostile, hasn't the computer industry has bent a few words
also?

Hope this makes your day,
