I'm new to this list, but in the last (not even) 24 hours I have received
about 30 messages, most of which addressed particular people's questions,
i.e. regarding museum studies programs, conservation specifics, etc.  As I
understand Internet list protocal these answers should be addressed to the
person asking the question and if others are interested then they can net
to the person who asked the orginal question to obtain answers.  Things like postings of meetings may be of interest to us all or requests for information or
availability of materials, but conversations probably don't need to be broadcast to every list subscriber, I think.  It's just too much stuff to delete from
my mail box.  If that isn't how this list operated, then maybe I should get
of it.  I just really liked the idea of being connected to all my colleagues.
Maybe some conservation/registrar association should sponsor a bulletin board or
