Curator

The Wisconsin Maritime Museum is accepting applications for the position
of Curator.  The Curator is responsible for planning and implementing
exhibits, supervising educational programs, overseeing collections
management, leading restoration of a World War II submarine, and
administering buildings and grounds maintenance.  The Curator also
shares responsibility for publications and public relations.  The
successful candidate will be energetic, have excellent oral and written
communication skills, strong organizational abilities, an ability to
work with people of varying backgrounds, an interest in working as part
of an enthusiastic team, and experience in museum administration.
Knowledge of Wisconsin’s unique maritime history and culture is
desirable.  Minimum qualifications include a masters degree in museum
studies, history, anthropology, or related field and three to five years
previous experience in a non-profit organization.  The Wisconsin
Maritime Museum is a private non-profit and the only AAM accredited
maritime museum on the Great Lakes.  The Museum is well known for its
innovative programs and its excellent stewardship of the USS COBIA, its
National Historic Landmark World War II submarine.  This position offers
a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and paid vacation.  Candidates
