Here at the Hancock house we use clam shells, they are cheap and we have had
no problems with wheelchairs of any sort. When it rains they also allow the
water to be absorbed quickly, thus minimal puddles.. These work great within
our 16-17th century interpreation here in Jersey(Joirsey)

Subject: Accessibility and Outdoor Museums

I've been asked to do a little research on what other outdoor museums have
used to make their roads and walkways more friendly for visitors who have
difficulty walking or use wheelchairs or scooters. What materials have
been used, how have they held up, and do they still have a period feel
consistant with their surroundings?

Thanks,
