We just had custom inserts made for several of our historic buildings.
Wooden frames with 1/4 inch Lexan. Lexan and Plexi with UV filtering at
that thickness very close 100% of the UV light. I was getting readings of
over 1300mw in some rooms, now down to 10mw! Lexan and Plexi(with the UV
additive) comes in opaque sheets, and in an array of colors; tho I do not
know if the UV additive is in the colors.

I used to live in the UK, and we used Perspex to make mounts and vitrines.
Here is a catalog of all the amazing colors.

Our panel inserts are a dream, I love how they work. Plus they were
customised to match so perfectly no one sees them even when you tell them
they are there. They sit in the sills over the historic windows on the
inside with a simple snap in bracketing.

Cheers!

Hi,

I've checked the listserv archives, local glass vendors, and plastics
websites and haven't found an answer to this question. I want to block
both UV and visible light in our 1839 Greek Revival mansion (and have
decided to use plexi sheets inside the window frames rather than film) -
does anyone make plexiglas that combines both filters? Or do I need to
buy one type of sheeting (UF-3, or tinted for visible filtering) and
apply another type of film to it, to get the whole protection? If that's
the case, which is better - applying UV film to a tinted plexi, or
applying tinted film to UV plexi? These filters are for transom and
sidelight windows in two large hallways, where it's impractical to hang
curtains or otherwise cut down the visible light.

Thanks!
