Curator of History. The Early American Museum (AAM-accredited), which
interprets the history of Champaign County/East Central Illinois, seeks
candidates for the position of curator of history. Responsibilities include
developing and managing a year-round exhibition and program schedule for
school, family, and adult audiences. Duties include, but are not limited to
exhibit planning, research, design, and construction; label, brochure, and
newsletter writing; graphics and multimedia design. Qualifications required:
strong research skills, strong record of exhibitions, written and oral
skills, advanced computer skills, broad knowledge of 19th- and early 20th
century American history and material culture (specific knowledge of
Illinois history a plus). B.A. required (M.A. desired) in American history,
museum studies, or related field. Two to three years experience preferred.
