The photographs that go on display to the public this week are so large
that an iPad would be unable to cope, but Hockney believes that the new
Apple touchscreen computer will have a transformative effect on art

detecting chemicals is important, such as underwater exploration,
environmental pollution such as gas leaks from underwater pipelines, or
even counter terrorism

** Giza pyramids has Ayrshire museum in stitches
It's not all about BC items as a set of three jaunty, mini knitted Giza
pyramids were recently left on the steps of the Dick (no doubt inspired by
the display)

** Curators need to become truly global
Part of the problem is that the UK’s public resources—notably the Heritage
Lottery Fund—are still devoted almost entirely to buying “heritage” art:
little is available for buying contemporary work of any kind
