I may be a little late on this thread.  Sorry.  Our Education Department
mounted an exhibition based on computer art in our Children's Gallery
during 1993-4.  They located computer based art from throughout the
country, taught the basics of computers, and placed four computers
with paintboxes on the floor for kids to play with.  Other than that
the paintboxes didn't hold up well to the wear and tear, it was a
very successful exhibit.  There is a catalog in the form of playing
cards if anyone is interested.
